Oncology

We understand the difficulties associated with treating a pet with cancer. It is an extremely emotional and overwhelming time for clients, and many pets can require prolonged treatment and regular visits to hospital. Across the Animal Referral & Emergency Network, our experienced specialist veterinary oncologists work with referring vets and clients to formulate the best diagnostic and treatment plans to help their patients.

Regular hospital visits for treatment are not always feasible due to distance or lifestyle constraints. At some sites, we also offer an online oncology service where our oncologists remotely support vets managing cancer patients that visit their clinic.

Dermatology

There are hundreds of different diseases that can affect an animal’s skin. But because skin can only react in a limited number of ways, many of these diseases appear very similar and can be challenging to identify. Our specialist dermatologists and experienced vets have completed advanced training in dermatology and can formulate the most direct and cost-effective diagnostic and treatment plans to help their patients. While most of our practice focuses on referral cases in dogs and cats, our dermatologists also consult on equine, exotic and wildlife cases. They are actively involved in research and keep up to date with the latest developments in veterinary dermatology.

Our specialists are happy to discuss the diagnosis and treatment of patients with referring vets. Referring vets are encouraged to contact us by phone or email if they require advice on a dermatology case.

Behaviour

Our network features some of the best animal behaviour specialists, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the field. Most behaviour problems found in pets are due to neurochemical imbalances in the brain that need to be normalised; therefore, in some cases, medication is necessary. Our methods are kind and humane to both pets and their owners and focus on reward-based methods. Examples of canine and feline cases commonly seen include:

  • Anxiety disorders, including separation anxiety
  • Noise phobias (e.g. thunderstorms, fireworks)
  • Aggression directed towards people or other pets
  • House soiling, urine spraying
  • Obsessive behaviours (e.g. tail spinning, fly snapping)

Our behaviour specialists are happy to discuss diagnosis and treatment of patients with referring vets by phone or email correspondence.

Dentistry

Veterinary dentistry is the branch of veterinary medicine that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and disease treatment of an animal’s teeth, gums, and other structures of its mouth.

Dental hygiene and health for your dog or cat is just as important to their overall health and quality of life as it is to yours. And just like our teeth, dentistry is all about prevention.

Our network has specialists that deliver a variety of both preventative and corrective procedures, including dental radiography, repair of fractured teeth, root canal therapy, placement of dental crowns and implants, facial fracture repair, and advanced extractions with the use of biosynthetic bone grafts.
