Dr Madeleine Roberts

Maddie graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 2014. Immediately following graduation, she worked at a small animal clinic in Sydney, and then completed a rotating internship in the UK. During her residency she was awarded the clinical membership prize in small animal medicine and completed research projects focused on antibiotic use for bacterial cystitis in dogs. Maddie was awarded her specialist status in small Animal Medicine in 2020. Prior to joining the Greencross network, Maddie has worked at the University of Sydney and the University of Glasgow attending to clinical cases while engaging in student education and clinical research. She is actively engaged with the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists acting as an examiner and auditor for membership and fellowship examinations. She is currently involved in research focused around genetic variations in cats impacting their ability to process commonly prescribed medications. Maddie’s career has been heavily influenced by her patients – she enjoys helping each pet during their journey while in hospital and working with their owners and the clinical team to achieve the best possible outcome. HRH Prince Theo, a cross-eyed Tonkinese, tolerates sharing his home with Maddie and the family. He has lived in both Scotland and Australia, and can be found on his perch monitoring the local Brush Turkey population.
