Dr Amber Wedge

  • Emergency
Dr Amber Wedge joined the AEC Woolloongabba team in 2024 as an Emergency Veterinarian, bringing a strong academic foundation and a passion for high-intensity clinical care. She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with First Class Honours from The University of Queensland in 2020 and completed her General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice in 2025. Amber thrives in emergency medicine, enjoying the challenge of working through complex, critically ill canine and feline cases. She finds it especially rewarding to see patients recover and return home to their families. Drawn to the fast-paced and unpredictable nature of emergency care, Amber values the way the team comes together under pressure to deliver exceptional care — even when a quiet shift turns into multiple critical cases within minutes. Currently, Amber is studying towards her Emergency and Critical Care Membership exams and plans to continue building her expertise in critical care as her career progresses. Outside the hospital, Amber spends her time at the beach or hiking with her Golden Retriever. She also loves baking and experimenting with French patisserie classics at home — even if perfection remains a work in progress, the results are always delicious.
