ARH nurses and Dr Ash looked after our little bunny Mayfield so well when we brought him in for gut stasis last week. Dr Ash saw us promptly and gave us excellent medical support (including advice to save us money but also keeping our buns health at top priority). Little Mayfield is back to his usual cheeky self with his sister Cinny! Thank you ARH!

We sadly lost our greyhound, Baby, this week. After she fell ill last week, we took her into the hospital. The staff were compassionate and very helpful - they immediately diagnosed the problem and organised a surgery. I visited our girl in the hospital several times while she was recovering, and was impressed by the the staff managed such a demanding job but still had time to be so kind. Although Baby died a few days later, she spent her last days at home, surrounded by her family, and we are grateful for that.

We unfortunately had to put our beloved cat to rest after hours 2 weeks. The team at ARH were nothing but wonderful, from the receptionist to the vet and the entire process itself, we couldnt have asked for more. They were so compassionate and caring beyond our expectations and took such great care to make one of the hardest moments for us as easy as possible. We will be forever grateful.

Blood Donor Program

You may not have ever thought about it, but just like humans, some sick pets need blood transfusions to survive. Accidents and illnesses such as trauma, rat bait toxicity, immune disorders, cancer, and snake bites can cause life-threatening blood loss. In these cases, a single blood donation can save up to three critically ill animals.

If your pet is suitable, they can be added to our blood donor register and help save lives, they will also receive:

  • A $100 Petbarn voucher
  • A FREE full physical exam with each donation
  • A FREE blood test with each donation

All donor candidates undergo a thorough but non-invasive health screening to ensure they are healthy and won’t be adversely affected by giving blood. In fact, for many pets, this may be the most comprehensive health assessment they’ve ever had, giving you peace of mind while they help others.

Donations are spaced at least every three months. During the process, your pet will receive a light anaesthetic and be placed on IV fluids to ensure a smooth and safe recovery. The whole process takes less than 15 minutes!

  • Be between 1-8 years old
  • Weigh more than 25kg
